Bogusław Zmudziński
The art director of International Film Festival “Etiuda&Anima” , vice–chairman of “Rotunda” Association in Krakow, a member of Animation Department of Association of Polish Filmmakers.

Bogusław Zmudziński was born in 1951, a graduate of the law school at the Jagiellonian University, he has a PhD in philosophy and is an assistant professor at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, a lecturer of Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He specializes in a problematic of social philosophy, aesthetics, theory and history of cinema. Actually he is a Member of University Assembly.

For the last few years he has been organising festivals and other film events in Poland and abroad, which popularise interesting, non-commercial cinema, especially the film classics, documentaries and animations. In 1990-2002 he was the President of the Jagiellonian University Film Discussion Club “Rotunda”.

For many years he has been a member of the Programme Council and the Selection Committee at the Krakow Film Festival. It was his initiative to award the Dragon of the Dragons at this festival (from 1998) to those film artists who deserve such a prize for their lifetime achievement. He is also the originator and the director of the International Film Festival “Etiuda”, which is devoted to films of graduates and undergraduates of art and film schools, held in Krakow since 1994.
He is also one of the initiators and co-organisers of the International Animated Film Workshop, which are held since 1996.

He cooperates with many periodicals (e.g. “Kino”) He is the co-author and the editor of a series of publications devoted to outstanding contemporary film artists (e.g. books “Wim Wenders”, “Werner Herzog”, “Roman Polański”, “Ingmar Bergman”, “Sergey Paradganov” and “Andrey Tarkovski”.

In 2003 he was appointed by the Minister of Culture and Cultural Heritage a member of the Expert Commission which evaluates film projects that are filed to the Film Production Agency in Warsaw.

In 2005 he was appointed by the Minister of Culture an expert of Polish Film Institute for evaluating projects of animated films. In August 2006 he was awarded with A Special Award of the Minister of Culture and Cultural Heritage bestowed on him by Mr Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski because of the jubilee of 50 years of Polish Federation of Discussion Film Clubs for entire activity in film clubs, especially for creating and twelve years organization of International Film Festival “Etiuda&Anima”.
